If you really wanted to know, the way we met could be straight out of a 2000s bromance movie. We crossed paths at a garage sale, started chatting, and just never stopped. One thing led to another, and soon we’d bought an old coffee roaster, parked it in Gareth’s garage by the sea, and spent our days roasting beans, staring at the waves, beer in hand.

Eventually, the neighbours got tired of all the hot air (literal and otherwise), so we moved into a shed in Apollo Bay’s “industrial area” and got a bit more serious. That tin shed became a local gathering place — part café, part art gallery, part stage. Hello Coffee turned into a community hub, and those were some great days.

In 2019, we stepped away from the café to focus on our families — and purely the coffee. Since then, we’ve been dedicated specialty roasters, still here in Apollo Bay, still roasting fresh every day.

So nowaday each dawn we kiss our wives and heft our metaphorical shovels and picks. We march to work and whistle and toil at the industry of Roasting - to make the tastiest and freshest coffee for you fine folk, wherever you might be.
