what dis?
Our marketer that we, unfortunately, hired (we thought it was a good idea then) had been badgering us a bit last year about our ‘branding’ and ‘identity’, and how different are we to other roasters.
We ignored her until the price of everything rose, and, well, we started thinking about what we were known for… and we were really good at providing a community space for everyone. Hello Coffee was where, it seemed, everyone’s Venn diagrams overlapped, and we existed harmoniously under the alluring scent of roasting coffee beans in a tin shed.
And so, we’d like to bring community back.
Nice Shot is our attempt at establishing a collaborative creative space between us, our customers and each other. We’re avid fans of coffee, art, literature, music, food, sports and where we live, and we’re excited to share the space with everyone else.

When? Every quarter (June, September, December, March)
What? An A5 publication, with a minimum of 8 pages
Theme? Winter
Deadline? Please send us your submission by midnight, Sunday, 18th May 2025.
What else? Please submit content that can be displayed on one (or two or all of them) A5 pages. If the content is visual, please ensure that the file is of high resolution. As this will be a publication that will be accessible for many (in cafes and everywhere!), we will only be publishing family-friendly content.
We are currently looking out for submissions on:
Visual art (Paintings, an infographic, collages, a comic strip, etc)
Written art (Short story, poetry, article, your thesis paper condensed into one page via DeepSeek, etc)
Auditory art (Send us a QR code to your bandcamp and a write up, perhaps? Maybe share your own composition?)
Games and/or puzzles (Ever wanted to publish your own crossword puzzle? Join the dots? What about a geocaching puzzle?)
Letters, stories, memorabilia, tributes, etc (Have a fond memory at our cafe? Come and share it with us!)
